Wyoming Hope…A rare white cow and calf bison at Bear River State Park in Evanston, Wyoming this weekend. The cows name is Wyoming Hope and it’s not yet known is the calf is a girl or boy. These bison are not albino, the rare coloring comes through genetics and the influence of Charolais cattle. Nevertheless they are a striking pair.P.S. This cow wasn’t directly bred to a Charolais bull, the dad is one of the regulr American bison bulls in the state park. The Charolais genes are just in there from way back, that’s why the white calf is still rare.
