Such a day as today, in 1830, Simon Bolivar dies, the Venezuelan leader who since 1812 and for almost 20 years led the fight for the independence of Spanish America. And it is that, thanks to their political and military movements, many countries on the Latin American continent achieved the liberation of their Spanish colonies. However, before Bolivar’s emancipatory epic took place, he experienced a youth full of contradictions that converted him into the complete historical persona that is now being remembered and studied.
