Just like today, in 1911, Maria Reiter was born, the supposed secret lover of Adolf Hitler. He met the future Führer in the Bavarian city of Berchtesgaden in September 1926, still being a teenager. It had been for three years and seven years. Their relationship was both intermittent and destructive. The couple started having frequent meetings, but soon the increasingly demanding political obligations of Hitler separated them. Stuck in resignation, Maria Reiter contracted marriage on two occasions, but always remained in contact with the Nazi leader, who conceived of having a divorcee as his wife. After the death of the Führer, María Reiter was married for the third and last time to an SS officer, and continued to be a fervent follower of national socialism until the end of her days. But I could never overcome the pose that left him the first man he kissed. A man who neglected me very quickly and who left to declare to the world: “My new life is Germany”.
