Here’s a photo of the Yugoslavian fighter girl, Liba Radij, who was just 17 when she was executed by the Nazis in 1943.
The commander told her, “If you name your colleagues, I’ll let you go right away.” She replied, “You’ll find out who they are when they come to avenge me.”
And sure enough, they did come back and executed him on the very same tree! It’s true what they say: cowards may be alive, but they truly die inside, while the brave live on in memory even after they’re gone.
