1861 in Kentucky just before the Civil War. Times were hard then and people fended for themselves daily to survive. Cloths and shoes were passed down from sibling to sibling. People appreciated things back then, and families were close to each other. Their form of entertainment was singing old folksongs. Neighbors shared with each other, when another needed something. The Appalachian Lifestyle was based on old Good Book learning, and honesty thrived in those days.
