The process of filming a snow leopard mother and her cubs for PlanetEarth3 took 76 days from start to finish. In total, 24 camera traps were needed, which were out in the open for around 8000 hours. Snow leopards typically inhabit high-altitude mountainous terrain, ranging from 3,000 to 4,500 meters above sea level. They tend to prefer steep, rugged landscapes, such as cliffs, rocky outcrops, and ravines.Snow leopards have short forelimbs and long hind legs, allowing them to stay agile in their steep environments.Photo: BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit on location for PlanetEarth3credits – Beautiful Nature
