Last Sunday, Paul and I traveled to Jefferson City, MO, excited to meet a special rescue. We connected with her new owner, Lisa, a dedicated court-appointed advocate for children facing difficult circumstances. Lisa’s role in the CASA program allows her to represent vulnerable kids in the legal system, often being their only voice. Recognizing the emotional struggles these children endure, she sought help from a renowned animal trainer to find a companion that could build trust and alleviate anxiety.
After watching the rescue’s inspiring journey from the streets of LA to becoming a therapy animal, we were thrilled to learn more about her impact. Since arriving in Missouri, Lisa dedicated seven months to training her, achieving certifications that enable her to offer comfort and companionship. Together, they work in a local law firm, providing support to children in the courthouse and visiting them during family meetings or school events as needed.
This rescued companion has not only found a forever home but has also become a crucial partner in Lisa’s mission to help children heal from trauma. The bond they share exemplifies the transformative power of love and intuition, proving that even the smallest gestures can make a significant difference in the lives of those experiencing hardship. As they navigate challenges together, their journey underscores the profound impact of unconditional support and the hope that can blossom from unique partnerships.
