But as he was about to leave, he noticed his dog
As the sun rose over the small town of america Ahmed prepared for his week-long trip to the mountains. He packed his bags, checked the weather forecast, and said goodbye to his family.
But as he was about to leave, he noticed his dog, Max, sitting by the door, staring at him with sad eyes. Ahmed knelt down to pet Max, but the dog whimpered and nuzzled his hand.
“Sorry, buddy,” Ahmed said, trying to comfort Max. “I’ll be back soon. You’ll be fine with the neighbor taking care of you.”
But Max wouldn’t calm down. He let out a loud whine and lay down on the floor, his paws trembling. Ahmed’s heart sank as he realized how much Max would miss him.
Ahmed’s family tried to reassure him that Max would be okay, but Ahmed couldn’t shake off the feeling of guilt. He remembered the countless times Max had been by his side, tail wagging, always happy to see him.
As Ahmed closed the door behind him, he heard Max’s faint cry. He took a deep breath and whispered, “I’ll be back soon, Max. Hang in there, buddy.” The sound of Max’s whimpering faded into the distance as Ahmed walked away, his heart heavy with the thought of leaving his loyal companion behind.
